Hounds Town Farmingdale Forms Alliance with Local Rescues

Oct 22, 2016

A significant part of Hounds Town USA’s focus has been helping local shelter and rescue animals in the community by serving as a temporary home for these dogs until they find permanent ones. Besides offering fully interactive doggie daycare, grooming, and overnight boarding to those lucky pups who have a home already, all four Hounds Town USA locations offer discounted boarding and interactive play rates for homeless pups in their communities. “The socialization, psychological stimulation, and structure that fully interactive doggie daycare offers is hugely beneficial to shelter dogs who may otherwise may sitting in a kennel in traditional boarding,” says Mike Gould, founder of Hounds Town USA. Each of the four Hounds Town USA locations works with shelters and rescues of their choice to make a difference in their community.

Hounds Town Farmingdale has partnered with Northern Exposure Siberian Husky Rescue and Siberian Husky Assistance and Rescue Program of New York to offer discounted doggie daycare and boarding services to dogs in these rescues that are waiting for furever homes or fosters. The doggie daycare facility also works with municipal shelters like Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter as well as private rescues including Get-A-Bull to organize fundraising events, toy and food drives, and to promote dogs for adoption.

Additionally, Hounds Town Charities—a 501(c)(3)—has fostered, adopted, rehabilitated, and helped more than 30 dogs find loving homes.
