Michael Gould began his canine career in 1982 as a training officer and canine handler with the New York City Police Department. He later transferred to the Nassau County Police Department where, as a lieutenant, he commanded the department's canine unit from 1995 to  1999. He is certified by the state of New York as a canine trainer and examiner for police patrol, tracking and scent detection teams. Mr. Gould possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science from the State University of New York and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
